The Dock Museum

Race Start: 9 am
Registration Opens: 7:30 am

This marathon route consists of a 6.6 mile out and back which follows the channelside footpath from the dock museum and then up past the fire station towards Kimberly Clark. The turnaround point is located just after the Kimberly Clark factory and then the route heads back towards the dock museum via Barrow's slag bank which was made back in the days when barrow had an iron ore plant.

The marathon distance is 4 laps of this course.

The half marathon will be 2 laps of the 10km route

The 10km is 1 lap.

The 5km will be 1 lap of a shorter course.


The route is well marked with yellow arrows on a black background.


Race HQ is located within Brewers Fayre, here Runners can shelter and use the facilities. Hot drinks and food are available for runners to purchase pre / post race.


The aid station / checkpoint will be located outside of the Dock Musuem which is opposite race HQ. There will also be a checkpoint at the turnaround point for the marathon course.

Cut off times for this event are as follows:

Marathon – 6 hours

Half Marathon – 3 hours

10km -2 hours

5km -2 hours


At the aid stations there will be a variety of snacks and drinks including coke, squash, crisps, biscuits, cake, chocolate, vegan snacks and water. Each finisher will receive a unique medal and race goody bag.
